About Us
Founded in 2017, and is wholly owned by Active Utilities, Real Utilities provides cheaper, greener, simpler energy to homes and businesses across the country. We install, own and operate the embedded networks that power our customers’ properties with 100% carbon neutral energy certified by Climate Active.
Our Approach
We’re proud to contribute towards a cleaner, greener planet through a combination of renewable energy technologies, such as solar PV, purchased carbon credits and ‘green finance’ loans – i.e. loans that support projects which have a positive impact on the environment. We believe that true change begins from the ground up.

Hieu has over 15 years’ experience in the energy sector in the property industry, specialising in energy procurement, billing systems and retail operations. Prior to joining Real Utilities, Huey worked in the consulting space for nine years, advising large commercial and industrial clients on their energy needs. Huey has also worked directly at a major Australian retailer for over six years and has in-depth insight around metering, retail operations and reporting of large data sets.

Hieu has over 15 years’ experience in the energy sector in the property industry, specialising in energy procurement, billing systems and retail operations. Prior to joining Real Utilities, Huey worked in the consulting space for nine years, advising large commercial and industrial clients on their energy needs. Kun has worked in the energy and utilities industry for over a decade, joining the Real Utilities team in 2022 as Energy Coordinator with expertise in meter data analysis, billing, and metering investigation. Kun also has extensive experience handling and resolving market enquiries, escalations, and complaints.
In his role at Real Utilities, Kun is responsible for monthly operational reporting, managing customer billing data, and assisting with customer queries and debt management.
